Jussie Smollett headed to jail!
Boy oh boy! Empire actor Jussie Smollett has been sentenced to 5 months in jail for an alleged incident that happened in 2019. Smollett stated that he was a victim of a hate crime (racial and homophobic), and after time in court and counts stacking up on him, it was determined that he was lying the whole time. With that, six counts of disorderly conduct was brought against him (which is a class 4 felony in Illinois). He was convicted of five counts, one being dropped.
He also was sentenced to 30 months of felony probation and ordered to pay over $120,000 in restitution. Many thought that he wouldn’t get jail time, but…the judge saw otherwise. “I never want to see a black man go to jail,” states Crowned ReRe.
