Great day or evening Neighbors and Groovers. We’re at the end of the year…or decade, in COVID time. Hope everyone is well and enjoying the Holidays.
A real quick spill about this project. One day…maybe a year ago…or even this year…again…COVID time…I was looking at an article acknowledging people between the ages of 20 and 30. Before that, I’ve seen some articles that acknowledge people between the ages of 30 and 40. Some months ago, Level Magazine did an article about Hip Hop emcees that are in their 40s (click HERE to check out…it’s dope). Outside of that…to my knowledge and research…I haven’t seen anyone else praise people in their 40s.
Reaching the age of 40 (plus) seems to be a forgetting age range, to some. Of course when your homegirl or your coworker turned 40, it was a massive deal. After that…it’s 50. To go further, 40 is the ‘old’ age. I mean…I don’t even remember when my Mom was 40. Maybe because I was coping with my 20s…who knows.
So yeah…here’s my list. It’s a collective of people I felt needed to be recognized. Being 40 is great (I’m 41, by the way……and .yes…it’s the water and not stressing *laughs*). Cheers to everyone on the list. It’s MORE of us out here, but…*points at disclaimer below*. Please do the duties and check out their Instagram pages and support them.
